Thank you card

Today I want to demonstrate how I made this lovely thank you card using the Hand Penned Products.

I was so impressed with this set that I purchased the entire suite of products, which included the Hand Penned Petals Bundle, the Hand Penned Designer Series Paper and the Genial Gems. I have to say I am very impressed with all the stamps and dies that are part of the bundle and the coordinating paper is absolutely gorgeous.

Below is a picture of the DSP and look at the colours that co-ordinate with it. There are just so many colour combinations to work with, I love it. Should you wish to see these products online, visit my online store by clicking here. ALL orders placed using my Host Code – KW643MGF during the month of May will be automatically entered into my monthly draw. If your order is over $200.00 you don’t need to use the host code but you will still be entered into the draw.

To make this card

Score Card base on the long side at 4 1/4″ and fold and crease with your bone folder. Adhere the DSP to the Evening Evergreen mat and then adhere to the front of the card. Set aside for now.

Stamp the flowered image on your scrap basic white card stock.

Now place the corresponding die over it as shown and run it through your Cut & Embossing machine.

I love how it lines up perfectly with the image. Once you’ve cut it, go ahead and colour with your blender pens and set aside.

Now with your scrap Pale Papaya card stock add adhesive sheets to the paper, flip it over than position your die and cut out. As you slowly peel away the adhesive it will take a lot of all the little cut out bits with it, however there will always be one to two stubborn bits remaining. Just use your Take Your Pick tool for those little pieces. When cut out, the adhesive will cover the detailed die cut and allow you to place it over the coloured stamp image.

TIP: Although you can do this without Adhesive sheets, I highly recommend using them for the very details dies. If you haven’t purchased these yet, you can always add a couple of drops of liquid glue onto your silicone mat and lightly sponge over the back of the die cut.

For my card, I just laid the flower die over my coloured image and pressed down gently to adhere. I love how it makes the flower image just pop with the added detail. I didn’t like how the leaves looked so I just trimmed those off. You can see below, how it looked before and after. What is your preference?

To complete my card, I used the Lovely Label punch to punch out my greeting and stamped the sentiment from the Colour & Contour set, with the Evening Evergreen ink pad, which matches beautifully with the mat on the front of the card. To apply to my card front, I first used some Stampin’ Seal to the back and folded the ribbon across. I then added dimensionals before applying to the card front. I also added dimensionals to the back of the flowered image then positioned it just above the greeting so the leaves overlap just a little.

For the inside, I stamped the same flower image on the bottom corner of my basic white, than adhered it to the Evening Evergreen mat. I then adhered it to the inside of the card.

I did the same with the envelope as well.

And this is my completed card.

TIP: Some ribbon frays very easily. Once you have trimmed it, take a lighter and VERY QUICKLY run it under the cut end of the ribbon. It will melt the cut edge a little so it doesn’t fray and you won’t even notice.
