Frames and Flowers Fun Fold Card

Hello my crafting friends. Today I would like to show you a fun card which looks a whole lot harder to make than it actually is. I like to call it a double flap card because honestly, I don’t know what else to call it. When this card is completely closed you don’t see the flaps at all but then you open it so you can see the greeting on the inside. My card is blank for the moment until I am ready to send it out.

For this card I used the lovely frames and flowers specialty paper. This package of specialty paper(Item #163765) is just $13.75 and includes 6 sheets of patterned paper: 1 each of 3 double-sided designs and 1 each of 3 single-sided die-cut designs. The cut outs and card fronts make card making so much easier, I punched them all out and put them in a bag so when needed I can just reach in and grab them.

ok, so lets get started

Fold and burnish your card base along the score lines as shown on the left (measurements are listed below) to create two outside flaps.

Assemble the two panels as follows; Lost Lagoon, then Petal Pink adding the specialty paper on the top.

With the side panels press down, lay the two panels on top so they line up with all four of the card edges. Glue each panel to the opposite outer flap only, so when you open the card the panels open as well . Pretty easy right?

For my greeting I use the die from the Wildflower Designs Bundle. I then stamped my greeting in Petal pink using a stamp sentiment from this same bundle.

I then added some of the pre-cuts from the specialty paper package around my greeting. Below is just a few of the cut outs available.

So once I was happy with my greeting, I glued the bottom half of my greeting to the bottom panel of my card front. (I did not use dimensional’s because the card is already thick enough. I used the two points as my guide and eyeballed it so it is in the centre of the card front. you can see below that when it opens, the top portion of my greeting doesn’t interfere with the opening of the card. I also added one of the leaf cut outs to the inside of my card of a little added interest. Seriously how easy was that to make up.

I liked this card so much I made a second one using a different variation of this paper. I also made up two portrait cards using this same paper. The fronts have some embossing on them and the ribbon and gems are retired but they go well with the card colours so why not use them?
