I love the look of an embossed card. Whether it is an embossed texture or an image embossed in one of the many colours avaialbe, it just shows you took that extra step in making that card special, don’t you think? Most of the time, I just emboss greetings on my cards but today I decided to step it up a bit. I cannot believe how nice this card looks. I think I’ll be doing that more often now that I have seen the results.
The card I made today, includes two different embossed designs. The first is a textured background using an embossing folder and the second is stamped and embossed image featuring the SHADED SUMMER Stamp set. This set includes 10 different with a variety of sentiments. It can be found in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue or you can click on the Name to visit my online store.
I love the flowered images and all the various sentiments that are included with the stamp set. The stamped images are stunning and the detail is amazing.
To make this card.
Take your card base and score at 5 1/2″ then fold and burnish with your bone folder. Using the Basic White piece for the outside of the card and an embossing folder, run it through the Cutting and Embossing machine to create the texture background. For this card I used the retired embossing folder Scripty 3D but you could use any texture you like. I then adhered it to the front of the card base and set aside.
For my DSP piece, I stamped the floral image in Versamark Ink then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. You may not see it in the picture but is has a lovely glossy look. I love that! I also stamped my greeting and heat embossed it as well. Once that was done, I adhered it to the Soft Succulent mat. Before adhering it to the card front, I wrapped the coordinating ribbon across the bottom and secured it on the back with mini glue dots. I added the bow and the sentiment to the front with glue dots as well. I then popped it all up with dimensionals before adhering it to the front of my card base.
For the inside of the card, using the coordinating Soft Succulent ink pad, I stamped the other image from the SHADED SUMMER stamp set to the bottom of my card stock. The greeting used is from the FOREVER FERN stamp set. As you can see, I also stamped the same image on my envelope. and added that to the inside piece of card stock before adhering it to the inside of the card.
To finish off my card, I added a few white pearls on the front of the card for some added bling
