Today I would like to show you a card I made using the Hand Penned Stamp & Die bundle which is in the new annual catalogue going live on May 4th. This is fast becoming a new favourite of mine. The stamp bundle also includes 14 dies of flowers and leaves to make designing a card super easy. Not only that but it has absolutely gorgeous designer series paper to go with it.
To make this card
Score your card base at 4 1/2″ on the long side and fold and crease with a bone folder. Set aside for now
For the card front, I lined up the scallop edge die from the Hand Penned Petals bundle along the edge of the card stock. After cutting the edge, I embossed the card stock with the Tasteful Textures embossing folder. I love that textured effect and the stitched edging the die provides. Adhere the card front to the front of the folded card base, lining it up flush with the folded score line.
TIP: Use a little Washi tape to hold the die in place so it doesn’t move.
For the flowers, I stamped the floral image twice, then coloured the flower with my Blender Pens; Fresh Freesia for the flowers and Old Olive for the leaves.
I love how the colours match perfectly to the card stock.
I then cut them out the flowers with the coordinating dies, which line up perfectly. Again, I used some Washi tape to hold it in place. You can see how perfectly it cuts out the image.
TIP: When using blender pens, no pressure is needed, just gently colour with the tip of the pen at a slight angle. This helps the pens to maintain their tip so it doesn’t get out of shape.
I stamped “Happy Mother’s Day” from the Timeless Tulip stamp set onto basic white and punched it out with the Dual Oval punch. I then used the scallop portion to punch out the mat in Fresh Freesia card stock for the sentiment, then adhered them together. I then adhered the flowers to the card front and added the sentiment with dimmensionals. I also stamped the flower on the envelope, because it just finishes the card.
I made this card, using the same Hand Penned Petals stamp and die bundle.
The colours Pale Papaya were used for both the card stock and the coordinating Blender Pens to make this card.
I used the larger floral stamp bundle for this card but the process is the same. I also used the larger scallop edge from the new Scalloped Contour die set. For added interest, I ran a piece of the new Pale Papaya & White ribbon along the edge of the fold
