Pansy Patch Cards

May 25, 2023
by Susan Beale

25 May

I love spring when all the new flowers start popping up all over the place. I love Pansies because they come in such a variety of colour combinations making each one totally unique, sort of like snowflakes. So today I pulled out my Pansy Patch bundle from Stampin’ Up! to create some spring flowers.

So the first thing I did was cut out all the components to make three flowers. I then cut out some leaves. As you can see in the pictures below, they work perfectly together and I just love how there is just a little bit of embossed detail on both the flower and the leaves.

Once I was done with my cutting, I took each of the flower petals and sponged around the edges with gorgeous Grape. This really makes the details of the flowers stand out. I then adhered the flowers together. My card base is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″ and burnished with my bone folder. For the card front, I used one of the new Basics 3D embossing folders and embossed the front. After adhering my card front to the Gorgeous Grape matting, I then arranged and adhered my flowers. The Sentiment was stamped with the Gorgeous Grape ink pad on basic white card stock. I ran the edges over the ink pad so it stands out a little on the white card front. I finished off my card with some glossy dots and brushed the flower petals with Wink of Stella for a little added bling.

Now my original thought was to use three of the flowers on my card but decided to just use two and the budding flower. Since I didn’t use the third pansy, I decided to make up a second card. For this card, I turned my card around to make a landscape card. I used a different embossing folder from the same set (3 folders) for a different look. I also wrapped the card front with Fresh Freesia ribbon along the bottom. I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with my 2″ circle punch. I then sponged around the circle edge for some added contrast before adhering to the card front with dimensional’s.
