A Gift from Santa card

Hi everyone, it’s been quite a while since I’ve made any posts as I have been dealing with some health issues pertaining to my feet. In a nutshell my toes on my right foot, were all turning purple due to lack of blood flow and I was in danger of a possible amputation. Needless to say, crafting was not on my mind at all. I had to cancel classes and I just couldn’t get inspired to craft, let alone do any posting. I was lucky though, I had surgery to put in a Stent in my right leg to improve the blood flow in October, AND IT WORKED! My toes are now looking normal in colour with the exception of my second two which is still swollen, painful and discoloured. I went into my most recent doctor’s appointment expecting to discuss the amputation of this toe. I was so shocked when the doctor told me no amputation is required and the toe will continue heal in the next month or two. I actually cried when he told me this. I feel as if I have been given a gift.

So with that in mind, I want to share this card I made using the Gifts of Giving stamp set. I first saw this card at brandyscards.com and knew I had to case it. It is just so adorable.

This lovely cling stamp is full of ways to share a gift. Whether it’s just a cup of coffee of a stack of presents. it makes for some fun cards.

You can find The Gift of Giving (#162075) cling stamp set on page 25 of the Sept – Dec mini Catalogue, where you will see other examples for gift ideas using this stamp set. It’s just so cute. Sadly this set will be retiring when this catalogue retires in January 2024

So let me show you how I made this card

Fold your card base in half at the 5 1/2″ score line and burnish it to give a nice folded crease. Stamp your image and colour it with Stampin’ Blends.

Adhere the Basic White front layer to the card front then stamp your greeting to the inside layer and adhere.

Adhere the Aluminum Foil to the 5” x 3 ¾” piece of basic white, making sure you lightly  cover the entire paper with adhesive.  Once adhered smooth the foil to reduce any wrinkles you might have.  Now flip to the back and run a bead of glue around the edges only, folding the foil over it.   Trim all excess foil

Insert the foil piece inside the 3D embossing folder and put through your cut and embossing machine then adhere to the front of your card with liquid glue.

Create your layers by adhering your coloured image to the Real Red Layer then adhering the red layer to the Garden Green layer. Add Stampin’ Up! Dimensionals to the back and adhere to the front of the card front.

Add a couple of coloured gems to the front for a little added bling.

Seriously, how cute is that card and it was so fun to make.
