Thoughtful Moments HYBRID Embossing Folder

January 15, 2024
by Susan Beale

15 Jan

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I have discovered something new from Stampin’ Up! and I have to say, I am very impressed. I am talking about the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder and the Stampin’ Brayer. Both can be found on page 18 of the new Jan-April Mini catalogue. I just love how you can cut out all kinds of caring sentiments and decorative elements at one time.

This one embossing folder includes 10 sentiments that can be used on cards, gift tags or any other paper craft project. They even have a raised edge to them for added texture.

Below is the single die to cut them all out at once. This die set comes with a total of 10 dies which include small hearts, stars, flowers and little rainbows to decorate with.

So Let me show you how easily it is to cut them all out at once.

For my example, I am using the Stampin’ Brayer and Cherry Cobbler ink pad. I love how this brayer has its own built in stand so it stands off the page when inked up. To use, just turn it over so the “legs” are facing up and run it over the ink pad…easy peasy right?

I know it looks messy but just bear with me, it really isn’t.

Open your folder and place on a piece of scrap paper. Using the brayer, ink up the side with the Stampin’ Up! label on it. Don’t worry about the ink showing between the words,

Note: You can use the other side but all your wording will be backwards, ask me how I know that?

d

Place the large die on the embossing folder so it lines up with the words. This die will sort of set in place and not move.

Note: The cutting edges will be facing up not down.

Now place a piece of 6″ x 6″ paper over the dies. I used Basic White but you could use other colours as well.

Close your folder and run it through your cut & embossing machine. Because it is thick, use only the plates 1 & 4.

As you can see each sentiment easily pops out with an outline of the greetings.

Seriously, how easy was that right?

As you can see on the right, I have used this method a few times and I am very pleased with the results. I used in Black, Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler. I wanted to see how each colour looked and I have to say, it looks pretty good.

Now you cannot really see it in the pictures above but the outline lettering is slightly raised as shown below.

PLEASE NOTE: I used my brayer and went over the lettering to fill in the lettering and give it a fuller look. I ruined a couple of greetings using the Brayer, because I pressed too hard, so I suggest you GO VERY GENTLY!!!!! You could also use your colouring tools to fill in the lettering if desired.

If you would like to purchase this amazing product (or any other products) to create your own greetings, now is a great time to do so.
