I CONFESS, I’M A HOARDER

Have you ever watched the hoarder shows on TV. The houses are usually so stuffed with well… stuff, that you can barely walk into any room in the house and it takes days or weeks for people to clean it out? I am not one of those people but as a crafter, I do hoard all my crafting supplies. I just love all my stamps, my card stock, designer series paper, ribbons, embellishments etc. However, it was getting a little out of hand so it was time for some cleaning and organizing.

First of all I took all my Paper Pumpkin stamps from past kits and got them all organized. I have been a subscriber for years and always look forward to the next month’s kit. It’s a great way to create new projects and I love how all the stamps and ink blots add to my supplies. So that being said, It took a while but by printing out all the cover sheets for each kit. I folded them so the stamp is inside, it allows me to see the picture on one side and the stamped images on the other all nicely stored in clear cellophane bags. The picture is just a small sample of what I am talking about. All the little bits left over from each kit were also organized and I was able to get rid of quite a few boxes from my small crafting space.

This month’s kit includes enough supplies to create 12 treat boxes—4 each of 3 designs. That means you can take your pick of apple, pumpkins, or jack-o-lantern treat boxes! Plus, the Paper Pumpkin box is designed to easily transform into a vintage wheelbarrow for you to display your harvest! Whether you’re thinking about crisp red apples or you’re ready to carve some spooky jack-o-lanterns (or both!), the Haunts & Harvest Paper Pumpkin Kit—designed in a vivid fall palette—is a hands-on crafting experience for all autumn lovers!

Next I spent some time, completing one of the many card kits that Stampin’ Up! has to offer. I had purchased this kit a while ago and never even opened it, so it was time to get started. I love this kit and I couldn’t wait to send the large Butterly card to my 5 yr old granddaughter, just because. I have been sending her cards every month or so for years and she loves getting mail from grandma. I love sending them too! This kit has already sold out so is no longer available but you can see what other card kits are available by visiting my online store. Just CLICK HERE

So after cleaning up and making some room I got to work on prepping for my next card class. There is only one spot left and I am looking forward to getting together with all the ladies. Below is just one of the cards we’ll be making and I have to say, I love the Blossoms and Bloom Bundle. It not only has beautiful dies which can be cut out and adhered to the front of the card with ease but it lines up perfectly with the flower stamp as well. As you can see, there are also lots of sentiments available to use as well.

TIP: I use the adhesive sheets for the outline die and it makes it so easy to overlay the outline die with the larger floral die AND there is no mess this way.

TIP: This is a large die so you will need Block “F” to stamp it. If you don’t have that block, you can use your Stamparatus plate to position your stamp. This will also allow you to re-stamp if your image isn’t quite perfect.

Below are a couple of other cards I have made using this set. After die cutting out the flowers and adhering the outline to them, I was able to cut it up and make two cards from the one die… so versatile.

Until next time, happy crafting!

  1. Where did you get the storage bag for your paper pumpkins? I would like to move mine out of the boxes. They take up too much space. Thanks

    1. Hi Debbie, I purchased the cellophane bags on Amazon. They are slightly larger (5 1/2″ x 7″ ) than your standard card size plus they have a seal at the top. It’s a little time consuming to do this but you won’t regret it. It’s amazing how much space I gained when I did this, plus it sort of forced me to use up some of the left overs for other projects. I’ll turn a few of the boxes inside out and use them for shipping. They are the perfect size for small parcels. The rest are getting recycled. Good luck!

  2. Thank you Susan. I looked on Amazon and found several cellophane bags this size. I will definitely be ordering them! Thank you for this great idea! The boxes are great for sending gifts but they just take up so much space in my room.
