Art in Bloom

Today I want to share a simple and easy fancy fold card to make. This card can be made pretty quick if you are in a hurry for a card.

To make this card

Take your card base and score at 4 1/4″ and fold and burnish with your bone folder. The smaller piece will become your card front.

Place the Bermuda Bay cardstock in the embossing folder and run it through your Cut & Embossing machine to create the brick background. I love this folder and how it creates the brick wall detail on your card stock.

You can now go ahead and adhere to the smaller card front piece as shown.

Take your scrap piece of Basic White and stamp your flower images from the Art in Bloom Stamp set. I love how all three flowers can be stamped as just one stamp. I absolutely love all the detail of these stamps. I suppose you could cut the stamp apart if you wanted to but I like how all three are slightly different so I would probably stamp them all anyways so I will leave it together. I then used my sponge dauber to add some colour to the centre of each flower leaving the tips of the leaves white.

This lovely set coordinates with the Bloom bundle which includes 9 dies and the Bloom Hybrid Embossing folder. I haven’t ordered this yet (on my wish list) so I just fuzzy cut out the flowers with scissors. It’s not as clean a cut as the die would be but I am ok with that.

For the inside of the card, I adhered the DSP to the right side of the inside portion. This way when the card is closed you won’t see the white portion until you open the card.

I then stamped my sentiment form the Art in Bloom stamp set and then attached that piece to the inside of the card. The two pieces just bump up against each other and do not overlap.

I used the third largest rectangle die from the scalloped Contours dies to die cut out the front piece. I am loving these dies and their detail. I have used them often with my cards.

After stamping my sentiment from the Forever Fern Stamp set, I adhered it to the front of the card, making sure I am only gluing on the part the overlaps onto the Bermuda Bay card stock. This way I am not gluing my card closed.

I then added dimensional’s to the back of the flowers and positioned them around the sentiment piece. I debated about adding gems but decided against it for this card but I suppose you could add something to the centre of each flower. Sometimes I like gems and sometimes I don’t. Although not shown, I also stamped one of the flowers onto my envelope, no plain envelopes for me.
