Mother’s Day Card

Luckily my mother is still around to spread a smile or two so made this card for her

  1. Pear Pizzaz card stock
    – cut 8 1/2 x 5 1/2″
    Black Card stock
    – cut 5 1/4 x 4″
    Whisper white
    – cut 3 3/4 x 5″ (2)

fold pear pizzaz in half and crease with bone folder.

  • Using the Forever Lovely stamp set stamp the following on one whisper white card stock
    – Stamp flower with lovely lipstick ink
    – Stamp leaves with Pear Pizzaz ink
    – Stamp sentiment with Memento Black Tuxedo ink

Adhere the white card stock to the black matting than adhere to the front of card

Stamp “Happy Mother’s Day to the other white card stock and in the bottom corner, stamp the single rose and adhere to the inside of the card

simple card but as the stamp set say’s, it makes a lovely but simple card

Father’s Day Card

Father’s Day is approaching so made up this very simple card.

Sadly, I lost my father a few years ago so cannot give him this card. Hardly a day goes by that I don’t think of him. That doesn’t mean I can’t make a card, right? It makes me feel better.

Instructions to make this card are shown below;

Black Cardstock
– cut 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 (card base)
– cut 1 1/4 x 5 1/2 (Sentiment mat)
Woods Textures designer series paper
– cut 1 1/2 x 3/4 (3 panels)
– cut 1 x 5 1/2″ (sentiment)
Crumb Cake card stock
– cut at 4 x 5 1/4 (inside the card)

After folding the black card stock and using a bone folder to crease the card, I adhered the Wood Texture panels evenly across the front of the card using snail adhesive.

I stamped “Happy Father’s Day” (non SU product) onto the sentiment piece and adhered to the matting using snail adhesive.

Using dimensional’s, I added the sentiment to the front of the card then added a few sequins to the front for a little bling.

I used the snail adhesive to adhere the crumb cake card stock to the inside of the card but left it blank.

OMG, I need a gift now!

Are you ever in a situation where you need a gift right away and don’t have time to shop? These gift bags are the answer.

I made these up to have on hand as a “just in case” type moment. The card was made up ahead of time so placed it along with an envelope, into a clear bag and stapled it to the outside of the bag for easy reference. The card is blank inside so you can write your comments to fit the situation.

Inside the bag is a mini pizza box filled with chocolates and decorated in the same colours and paper as the card on the outside. It is all tied up with a coordinating ribbon.

The bag is big enough to add other items if you wanted to or you could slip a gift card into the box as well. A little bit of tissue paper to stick out the top and you are all set to go. A little gift is better than no gift, correct?

Since I didn’t have any on hand, I’ve added tissue paper to my next shopping list

Pyjama Get Well Card

Get Well Card
  • This is such a cute and different way to wish someone well. To create this card, I used the Needle Point Nook designer series paper (DSP)for the blue robes and Twinkle Twinkle DSP for the Green robe. I think they have that Pajama look about them don’t you?

Each card was cut at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 and folded inwards at 2 1/8 to meet in the middle.
The sleeves are measured down by 2″ and cut inwards at 3/4″. I trimmed the sleeves to make them angled a bit.

It’s a little tricky but leaving the sleeve facing outward, I folded the remainder of the card inwards and creased using the bone folder. This gives you an inside fold.
To form the collar, I used a ruler to line up the bottom of the sleeves then folded center outward then creased gently as I did not want it to fall flat

I added whisper white card stock to the inside, cut at 2 1/2″ by 5 1/4″ This should be glued underneath the folds. I stamped “Missing you” from the Home to Roost stamp set and made sure it lines up between the collar than stamped “Hope you feel better really soon” from the ??? stamp set inside the robe. For whatever reason I cannot find this stamp again. I know it will show up when I least expect it to.

The slippers puppy faces were stamped with Bella and Friends in Grey Granite. I then fussy cut out the puppy head and coloured them with my blender pens I really like how the green shows up the puppy face but am lacking the proper colour to make the blue slippers stand out. I think I might add some blue fluff balls on top instead…fuzzy slippers make for a great alternative and will just add to the cuteness of the card.

The final step is to add the ribbon. I did glue the ribbon to the back on the card so when it’s opened it doesn’t fall off. It also helps to keep it in place when you are trying to tie a bow in front. The blue ribbon was part of the sale-a-bration ribbon combo and the green was left over from the paper pumpkin kit (Jan 2019 I think)

Welcome Baby

New babies are cause to celebrate and whether it is your child, niece or nephew or grandchild, it is nice to have a cute little card to celebrate.

I made up the blue cards using Balmy Blue card stock and the yellow cards using the So Saffron card stock. I added the whisper white to the card as matting so both the heart and the Gingham Gala paper pops. The double sided Gingham Gala paper matches beautifully and I made a couple of each card using both the small and larger print. The baby footprints as well as the sentiments on the front of the card along with the baby bottle on the inside, are all part of the First Steps Cling stamp set so it is very versatile. On the inside I used the stamp set Wonderful Moments for the sentiment. The ribbon is also matching the colours of the card.

If you would like to explore your creativity, please contact me to get future updates. I send out a monthly newsletter and I also host card making classes to give you a hands on approach to creating.
